The final bit of assembly consisted of adding the landing gear and the landing gear bay doors. I glued the doors on with some Plasti-Zap CA glue. When those were cured I used Tenax to glue the landing gear in place. If you look closely at the bomb bay doors near the rear you will see a small hole I drilled. This is where a small section of steel wire will fit that will fix the model to the base so it doesn’t slide off.

Here is a view of the completed model on its wheels.

For the mount I used a wooden base painted flat black. I had an old Verlinden tarmac section that had been in my stash closet for years. I’m not sure they are still in business. It was pretty expensive for a piece of printed cardboard. This would be as good a time as any to use it. I trimmed it to fit the wooden base and placed the models on it. The XST “Have Blue” plane has a hole drilled in the bottom similar to what I did for the F-117 to keep it on the base. I don’t have the steel rods cut yet, but the planes are placed in the configuration I’m going to have them on the finished base.

Here is a set of three photos showing the models from different angles.

Now I finally have my two stealth planes finished and mounted. I built the F-117 pretty much out of the box. The only added details were the 3D-printed ejection seat and a set of aftermarket decals. The Hasegawa kit isn’t bad. The overall fit is good with the exception of the wing-body join. I’m glad it’s finally finished. It took much longer than I would have liked, but other things kind of got in the way.
I’m thinking my next subject will be back in the spacecraft category. I haven’t quite decided, but I hope to start that soon. (As long as my back cooperates.)
Thanks for looking.
