Finally, paint has been applied to the vehicle! The above photo shows the booster section of the Atlas. I painted it with Alclad Dull Aluminum. When that had cured I epoxied the two booster engine nozzles in place. They were painted with Tamiya Metalic Gray. In the photos the Dull Aluminum looks a bit yellowish. It’s not really. It seems to be the way camera sees some of the room light reflecting off the paint.
Here is a photo of the underside of the booster section. I still have to drill holes into the nozzles for the steel rods that will attach the model to the base. It will need to be supported slightly above the base to clear the turbopump exhaust pipe which has yet to be attached.

I next primed the main Atlas body with Tamiya Gray Primer and then sprayed it with Alclad Black Base. I let that cure for about three days. It is an enamel that needs some time to fully cure before adding the color.

When that had cured I sprayed it with Alclad Stainless Steel. Here is a photo of how that turned out.

I have a little more work to do to the equipment pods before I attach them. When they are attached I can glue the resin rear bulkhead and then attach the body to the booster section. I am also working on the decals for this model. I’m enlarging and modifying a set of 1/72 scale Horizon Models Atlas decals. This has been eating a lot of my building time.
That’s it for now. Thanks for looking.
